Leading London-based Mental Health Care Provider Expands

25th June 2020 – London N12 – Amid the uncertainty of the COVID-19 crisis, one care provider is going from strength-to-strength. Shine Partnerships Limited today announced the opening of its 11th and 12th supported living units, during ‘lockdown’, to follow-up the opening of its 10th site earlier this year.

Shine provides high quality [CQC Registered] homes, supported living and floating support services for forensic and/or complex needs mental health service users. Its services are in high demand because they are unique, personalised, positive, person-centred and provide excellent value. As a result, Shine has become one of the biggest providers of care in North London.

Managing director, Manoj Mahtani, said; “Mental health has become widely recognised as a big issue. And the need to provide safe, good quality care for vulnerable people is not diminished during a national crisis such as COVID-19. Our plans to open these two new sites were in-hand when the Coronavirus hit the headlines, but it’s taken a superhuman effort by the management team and staff to deliver these new services. We had to overcome huge added complications to keep staff safe, and also ensure the safety of service users as we introduced them to their new home.”

Quality Care requires Quality Facilities

Two of Shine’s three new residences have been developed in premises previously used as care homes. “That doesn’t make it significantly easier,” says Manoj. “Shine provides the very high-quality facilities needed to match the quality of care we provide. That has meant a complete refurbishment, refit and redecoration of the buildings, as well as training new staff and helping managers and supervisors get to know the buildings before residents move in.”

All three sites (Carlton Lodge in Friern Barnet, Limes House in Arnos Grove, and Maryland House in Wood Green) are already well subscribed, such is the demand for Shine’s services.

  • Carlton Lodge provides a hybrid service, supporting 6 service users on 9-to-5 packages with 24-hour rapid response on-call service and 13 service user 24-hour support packages.
  • Limes House provides a hybrid service, supporting 6 service users on 9-to-5 packages with 24-hour rapid response on-call service and 11 service user 24-hour support packages.
  • Maryland House provides support for up to six long-term female service users.

Manoj concluded; “We set up Shine Partnerships eleven years ago to provide excellent care and support for our service users while offering good value to the organisations that commission our services. I am very proud that we have now opened our tenth, eleventh and twelfth homes, eager to get to know our new residents, and keen to work alongside the talented new staff we have brought on board to support them.”
